Want to own an
Historic Guitar?

As many of you know, I moved last fall
after living 15 years in the same house. In order to make that move I
had to go through every single thing I’d acquired over those years and
also through the unbelievable number of things that past-housemates had
abandoned. (Who the heck owned the blow-up Nancy Reagan doll!!!???
Ricky??)
I gave away, recycled and threw away
probably two tons of stuff. I gave hundreds of books and CDs. Goodwill
patrons will be snappily dressed for years because of what I dropped
off. Still, my new home is more packed than I need it to be and I’ve
decided to auction off a bunch of my guitars. I could do this on E-Bay,
but I’d rather go directly to folks who might have some sentimental
attachment to particular instruments - all of which have been used on
albums I’ve recorded or tours I’ve performed.
I love these old guitars but you know,
I’m just not that attached to my stuff anymore. I don’t need them. I’ll
keep the guitar I’ve been using the last ten years and in fact, will
probably take what I make from the sale of these guitars and buy another
one or two that are more specific to my needs.
How to bid:
First of all, if you
participate, please be a serious bidder (because this is serious
bid-ness). I’ll make it simple and clean. If you are interested in
any particular instrument, email me with your name, address and phone
number and amount of your bid. (no one but me will see any of this
information) You may also say a few words about why you want that
particular guitar. If there are tying bids, I will choose based on
comments. If your bid is in the running for a guitar, you will hear from
me via email or phone. Send bids to mt@michaeltomlinson.com
You can also bid on guitars but using the
Mail-In
or the On-Line
form (if
on-line form
does not work for any reason, please email me at
mt@michaeltomlinson.com.) Payment may be by cash, check or money order,
with buyer to pay for shipping of choice. If you prefer to pay with
Visa/MC, please add 5% to your total.
All of these guitars are quite
playable and I’ve played each of them recently, some have pick-ups
that may or may not need cleaned and tuned-up. Though you may want these
to play, I’m selling them mainly for the sentimental value of
instruments on which were created songs that many people around the
world have listened to and loved. All guitars are sold as-is and may not
be returned. I will happily autograph each instrument if you request.
Each guitar will be sold with a certificate of authenticity stating that
it was once owned and played by me. Also, included will be a photo of me
playing each instrument you buy.
