Faraway Places
When I was just a little boy, oh, I loved to read a story
About a boat that sailed away
Id imagine I was there breathing in that salty air
Pretending I was on my way
Over waters deep and blue
Whales and dolphins would lead me to
Real adventure, wild and true
Oh, the wonderful things I would do
In faraway places

Over there in Italy everyone would wave at me
As I sailed upon the ocean
And off the coast of Africa, on my way to South America
The sun on my face I would sail
If Id been born a little girl
Id still have gone around the world
In a boat that sailed away
I might have brought my teddy bear
So we could play and he could steer
The three of us out on the sea
