Desert Rose     Listen

I need a love to come float me away
Sail me out the door on a real good day
Roll me on a wave of feeling
Show me something I can believe in
Real love that grows like a Desert Rose

You’re in my dream nearly every day
I lay you on the ground in a random way
I fall down in the leaves beside you
I guess you know what I’m thinking that I’ll do
My motive’s clear as the month of May

I live my life to rise and fall
I think it’s real and then I’m laughing at it all
Wonder if this will ever change
I swear the yearning in my heart is still the same

High above the town over Parau Bay
I climbed up the trail on a summer day
Not a sound but my loud breathing
Steady, like a spell was weaving
I may have not ever come back down

I know this body isn’t me
And It’s so hard to still believe
As I get older in the dream
That I was so enamored of
It isn’t here, it isn’t there
I have circled everywhere
But all this yearning finally
Leads me back to my own love
My own true love

I live my life to rise and fall
I think it’s real and then I’m laughing at it all
Wonder if this will ever change
I swear the yearning in my heart is still the same

It’s all the same
It all remains the same

But down the road
From where I’ve been
Some Desert Rose will bloom again
Cool rain will come
And wet me down
Showing me that love must be
Where life exist
Where love is needed
It always is
Love must be where life exist
Where love is needed it already is
Oh, love must be a Desert Rose
